Reports
Charts of how a project’s work is moving: burn up, forecast, throughput, flow, cycle time, priority, age and workload.
What Reports shows
Open Reports from the Create menu. It draws on every task in the project, wherever it was created. The numbers at the top count tasks, done, open and overdue. Below them:
- Burn up — tasks done against the total. The total line rises as tasks are added, so new work and slow progress look different.
- Completion forecast — when the open tasks would be done if the pace so far continues.
- Weekly throughput — tasks finished each week (weeks start Monday) over the last eight weeks.
- Cumulative flow — not started, in progress and done over time. A middle band that keeps widening means work starts faster than it finishes.
- Cycle time — days from creation to done per task, with the median and the 90th percentile.
- Open by priority and Age of open tasks — where the open work sits and how long it has waited.
- Workload — open and done tasks per person, by name. Before anyone is assigned, by task type.
Reading them
Dates compare on your own calendar day. The charts become useful once a project has a handful of tasks and some are done. For a sprint's own burndown, use the Burndown tab in Sprints; for capacity by week, use Workload.
- A forecast that keeps moving out usually means tasks are added as fast as they finish. Check the burn up total line.
- If one person carries most of the open work, rebalance in Workload before the next sprint.
