Tasks across every view

Why a task made anywhere shows everywhere: one record, many lenses, and what that means day to day.

One task, every view

Every task in Kyndium is one record. It does not live in a view; every view reads it. Mark it done on the Board and it is done in the Checklist, on the Timeline, on the Calendar, in Reports and on Home. Set a date on the Timeline and the Calendar shows it. There is no sync step because there is no second copy.

What a lane changes

The only thing that makes a task a Board card is the lane it sits in. A task with no lane is a Checklist or Timeline task; give it a lane and it is also a card. Everything else (title, notes, dates, priority, assignee, labels, points, progress, completion) is the same wherever you look.

Tasks that cross over

Tasks made in the Checklist, the Timeline or the Calendar appear on the Board in a dashed Not on the board yet lane until you place them. Tasks that live in a lane appear in the Checklist under On the board, not yet ordered here, with an On the board tag, and can be ticked there; drag one into the list to give it a Checklist position. Undated tasks show a Set dates button on the Timeline and sit in the Calendar's Unscheduled tray.

Completion has one owner

Whichever gesture you use (the check in the Checklist, a done lane on the Board, 100% on the Timeline, the tick on Home), the result is the same flag on the same record, stamped with the time it happened. A repeating task makes its next instance from that flag, however it was completed.
