Kyndium introduces Timeline Studio, turning project plans into presentation timelines
The new Create tool draws slide-ready timelines from a project's milestones and exports them to PowerPoint as editable shapes.
Kyndium today released Timeline Studio, a tool inside its project management product that turns a plan's milestones into a presentation timeline and exports it to PowerPoint as native, editable shapes.
Project leads routinely rebuild their plans by hand for reviews, drawing timelines in slide software from data that already exists in their planning tool. Timeline Studio reads that data directly. A timeline can start from a table of rows or from the project itself, taking its milestones, its critical path, a lane or a label, and the rows stay linked to the tasks they came from.
Twenty-two templates in seven families cover the common shapes of a timeline: a straight line, a process of chevrons, a serpentine path, pins on a road, a vertical ladder, a curve, and a stacked roadmap. Six palettes and brand kits with a company's colors, display typeface and logo keep the result on brand. Anything on the stage can be selected, nudged, rewritten or hidden, and those edits survive a change of template.
"The deck for the review is where plans go to drift," said the Kyndium team. "Someone redraws the timeline the night before, and from then on there are two versions of the plan. Timeline Studio draws it from the plan, and the file it exports is real shapes, so it can still be edited in the meeting."
Timeline Studio exports to PowerPoint, SVG, PNG at two or four times resolution, and PDF. Google Slides imports the same PowerPoint file. Long timelines split across slides automatically. Version history, comments pinned to elements, presence while a team reviews, and public view-only links are included. A timeline can also be placed on a Kyndium whiteboard as a live element.
Timeline Studio is available today in every Kyndium account on the Pro plan and above, and in the free Student and Non-Profit plans.
