Timeline Studio

Turn a project’s milestones, or a few rows you type, into a presentation timeline you can tweak and export as PowerPoint shapes, SVG, PNG or PDF.

What it is for

The Timeline tab is for working the schedule. Timeline Studio is for the picture you present: milestones on a slide, in a look you choose, that you can nudge, brand and export. Open it from Create → Timeline Studio in a project, or from Modules → Timeline Studio for timelines that are not tied to a project.

Starting one

Pick a look from the gallery: 22 templates in seven families (straight lines, numbered processes, serpentine paths, pins, vertical ladders, curves and a stacked roadmap). Every template draws the same rows, so you can switch later without losing anything.

In a project, choose From this project and the rows come from your tasks. The Source above the rows picks milestones, the critical path, one lane, a label, or everything with a date; those rows stay linked to their tasks. Otherwise start from sample rows and replace them.

  1. Choose a lookThe caption says how many points each template reads well with.
  2. Fill the rowsA label, a date and a caption, plus an icon and a color if you like. Dates understand "Mar 4, 2026", "March 2026", "Q3 2026" or "2027" and keep that precision in the picture. Paste a block from a spreadsheet to add many rows at once.
  3. Tune itPalette or brand kit, display face, size, spacing, spine, markers, labels and icon style sit on the right. Add a title, a dark background or a logo.
  4. ExportPowerPoint keeps every marker, label and spine as a shape or text box you can keep editing; Google Slides imports the same file. PNG at 2× or 4×, SVG for Figma or Illustrator, PDF, or Copy as image to paste into a deck.

Editing the picture

Click anything on the stage to select it. Drag it or use the arrow keys to nudge (Shift for bigger steps), double-click text to rewrite it, press Delete to hide it. Edits are kept per element, so when a date moves, a row is added or you switch template, the picture re-lays itself out and your nudges stay relative to their new spot. Put back undoes one element's nudge; the reset at the bottom of the settings clears them all. ⌘Z undoes anything.

  • Linked rows show a link mark. Change their caption, icon or color here; open the task to change its name or date.
  • Icon style draws icons as lines, on a tinted tile, or heavier. The picker starts with Kyndium's own duotone glyphs, then the Lucide library.

Long timelines, versions and brand kits

When there are more rows than a template reads well with, the timeline continues over more slides: the stage gets a pager, the table marks where each slide starts, and every export produces one slide, page or file per slide. You can instead choose Shrink or Draw all under Spine and markers.

History keeps versions: one every ten minutes while you work, plus any you name. Restoring is an ordinary change, so ⌘Z brings back what you had.

Your kits, under Palette, save colors, a display face, a background and a logo to apply to any timeline. A timeline keeps the kit's values with it, so changing or deleting a kit never alters a picture already made.

Sharing, comments and who is here

Share makes a public, view-only link; anyone with it can look and download a PNG, and Turn the link off stops it working. Comments pin to a marker, label or the spine: select it, write, and a numbered bubble appears beside the element. Type @ to mention someone on the project; they get a notification. Faces beside the title show who else has the timeline open, with their selection outlined on the stage. A save by one person shows up for the others as long as they have nothing unsaved.
